Kelly is a self taught artist with a unique ability producing portraits, landscapes and still life at age 9. Her natural talent has evolved to become a prolific “artisan” in the contemporary fine art market of the 21st century. Kelly has exhibited fine art work at 86 locations in the greater Denver area and front range gallery venues of Colorado. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Colorado State University.
There is a wide variety of art medium to work with in a two dimensional painting field. Kelly has excelled in mosaic tile murals, mono prints, wood cut printing, watercolors, pastels and oils. There is a wide variety of art medium to work with in a two dimensional painting field. Kelly has excelled in mosaic tile murals, mono prints, wood cut printing, watercolors, pastels and oils. She is currently painting still life and landscape in the "plein aire" style. This method of painting is the one that the old master painters like Van Gogh, Manet, Monet, and Cezanne had produced. However, the galleries at that time period refused to exhibit them because their work was too "impressionistic". Kelly follows in the "plein aire" style of the old masters on canvas or wood board.
My current inspiration was moving to the "Mystic" San Luis Valley in southern Colorado. With the Rio Grande National Forest as a back yard, it invokes me to follow my natural instincts. My current inspiration was moving to the "Mystic" San Luis Valley in southern Colorado. With the Rio Grande National Forest as a back yard, it invokes me to follow my natural instincts. Also just studying nature in all its seasons gives myself a new balance in the study of light and dark for new still life work. After many years of working on my craft, my color painting palette and I, have merged with my vision of producing excellent and high quality contemporary fine art.
